On 4 June 2026, the Behavioral Science in Health (BSiH) Lab of the Cyprus University of Technology was featured on Lemesos TV. The Lab was represented by Dr Angelos Kassianos, Assistant Professor in Health Psychology and lab Director, and Ms Eleftheria Lazarou, Clinical Midwife and Research Associate.
The discussion focused on the role of behavioral sciences in health and their contribution to disease prevention and the promotion of healthy behaviours. The research work of the BSiH Lab was presented across topics including vaccination, breastfeeding, physical activity, smoking, and nutrition, as well as the development and evaluation of innovative interventions with an emphasis on digital health applications. The connection between scientific research, policy-making, and the use of evidence-based approaches to improve public health was also highlighted.
Particular emphasis was placed on the ALTHEA project and the forthcoming launch of the ALTHEA mobile application, designed to support healthy perinatal behaviours, strengthen access to professional and peer support, and promote evidence-based guidance for pregnant women and parents.
