Testing and evaluating the collection of patient reported outcomes in cancer care using innovative approaches (PRICE 2019-2022)

Description

The general objectives of this project were to:

(1) Collect real-time data related to pain that can be used during cancer patients’ healthcare provision and personalize their treatment benefiting the patients and their families in Cyprus,

(2) Develop an innovative mobile Health (mHealth) application (‘app’) where the patients can receive a real-time intervention based on the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help with managing their pain,

(3) Carry out high-quality research that will extend the research capacity of Cypriot Organizations, including the potential for networking and cooperating with EU research programs (i.e. the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer -EORTC) and develop a consortium to develop future grant applications both in a national and European level and

(4) Improve psychosocial cancer care delivery, ensuring that it is evidence-based and up-to-date whilst at the same time contributing to the development and empowerment of the Cyprus Health System.
