Building Connections for Health: BSiH Lab’s Networking, Learning & Impact in September 2025

12th October 2025

September 2025 was a dynamic month for the Behavioral Science in Health – BSiH Lab at Cyprus University of Technology, marked by strong engagement, collaboration, and public outreach.

We kicked off the month at the HERA Info Day and Cyprus Networking Forum (04/09), actively connecting with health sector stakeholders and highlighting the critical role of networking for research growth and innovation. The momentum continued at the European Office of Cyprus Networking Event (10/09), fostering dialogue and partner connections in Nicosia.

On 17/09, we hosted UK-based PhD student Nefeli Lambrou, who led a teaching session for the MSc in Midwifery on trust, rapport, health psychology models (COM-B, HBM), and the evolving nature of patient-caregiver relationships. She also presented her doctoral research to staff/students and joined a departmental seminar, sharing practical perspectives in clinical health psychology

The Lab’s presence extended to the INSPIRE Entrepreneurial Festival (25/09), emphasizing the value of translating research to societal impact and learning from innovation ecosystems.

On 26/09, the BSiH Lab participated in the European Researchers’ Night at the Cyprus State Fair in Nicosia, a flagship event organized by the Research and Innovation Foundation. This pan-European celebration brought thousands—especially youth—together with researchers and innovators for hands-on science, interactive demos, and inspiring discussions about the societal value and excitement of scientific careers.

The month concluded with an invited presentation by Lab Director Dr. Angelos Kassianos at the EU MiCare Erasmus+ project closing event (30/09, Limassol), highlighting the importance of mental health and integration for refugees and migrants, and the need for early, inclusive support for vulnerable groups.

Throughout September, BSiH Lab’s activities embodied the power of collaboration, network-building, and education—advancing health research, enriching learning, and making science accessible to all.
