21 March 2025

It is with great pleasure that we introduce our new intern Anna Yayloyan.

Anna holds a degree in General Medicine from Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia and is currently pursuing a master’s in Public Health at Cyprus University of Technology, specializing in epidemiology and biostatistics.

She is working on her master’s thesis, which examines ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption among students and faculty across universities in Cyprus. The study aims to assess UPF consumption patterns and explore associations with BMI and other health indicators, including physical activity, sleep quality, blood pressure, and lipid profiles.

Anna is actively involved in lab work, contributing to the SAFEST project and a study on the quality of life of hematology patients. With experience in literature reviews, data analysis, and scientific writing, she is committed to evidence-based public health. She is also skilled in R, using it for statistical analysis and data visualization to support her research.

Additionally, she has recently become involved in the WHO-EU EVID-ACTION network, where she will contribute to efforts aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm across the EU.
