29th June 2026

We are pleased to welcome Kshitija Akash to the Behavioral Science in Health Lab as our new summer intern.

Kshitija is a recent Master of Science graduate in Health Psychology from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. Her dissertation explored how attachment styles and perceived social support influence alcohol drinking behaviors among adults, using qualitative methods.

Kshitija also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with Counselling Skills from Middlesex University Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Her dissertation examined the association between attachment styles and self-esteem using quantitative methods.

Her academic training has provided her with a strong foundation in behavioral research, as well as qualitative and quantitative data analysis. She has experience in qualitative methods such as interviews and thematic analysis, and quantitative methods including surveys and statistical analysis. She is also familiar with systematic review methodologies and research design. In addition, she has experience using research tools such as Qualtrics, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences, R, and Excel.

Alongside her academic background, Kshitija has gained practical clinical experience in the United Arab Emirates. She worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy Intern at Gifted Minds in Dubai, where she observed and recorded session data systematically, contributed to behavioral intervention plans under clinical supervision, and supported the development of data-driven strategies. She also completed a Clinical Psychology Internship at the American Wellness Centre in Dubai, where she shadowed senior clinical psychologists in case discussions involving conditions such as depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, contributed to draft care plan development under supervision, and gained foundational experience in client-centered communication and healthcare settings.

Kshitija is driven by a strong interest in student wellbeing, behavioral psychology, and health research. She is particularly passionate about translating psychological research into real-world clinical and applied practice and is excited to contribute to the eCREST project.

We are delighted to welcome Kshitija to the team and look forward to her contributions.
