On the 09th of April, we had the pleasure to host Dr Kyriaki Giorgakoudi from City St Georges University of London for an invited seminar on Economic Evaluation and Mathematical Modelling: Applications in Oncology, Infectious Diseases and Beyond.
During the seminar, Dr Giorgakoudi expanded on an impressive research portfolio highlighting the importance of economic evaluation for UK funding bodies and policymakers. During the discussion that followed, the audience discussed the importance of policymakers’ decision-making to be based on evidence and evaluation data. A representative from the Cyprus Health Insurance Organisation expressed the interest to follow-up and learn from experience so that the General Health System is sustainable and efficient.
Following the seminar, members of the BSiH Lab met with Dr Giorgakoudi to discuss potential collaborations.
