06th October 2025
We are thrilled to announce that our postdoctoral researcher, Laura Panagi, has been awarded one of only two European Health Psychology Society (EHPS) Synergy Grants for 2025. This distinguished grant supported her participation in the SYNERGY Expert Meeting (August 24-25) and the EHPS 2025 conference (August 25-29) held in Groningen, Netherlands.
The EHPS Synergy Grants foster collaboration among health psychology experts to advance research quality and impact. The 2025 theme focused on Participatory Research, an approach emphasizing genuine partnership between academics, people with lived experience, and those affected by health issues, such as through co-creation and community engagement. Participatory Research holds great promise for equitable health interventions but requires overcoming challenges like resource allocation and adapting to varying political-social contexts.
Laura will join leading researchers in applying Implementation Theory to map how Participatory Research is implemented across countries using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). The expert meeting aimed to devise practical strategies and policy recommendations to improve Participatory Research and establish a network including health psychologists, healthcare providers, and community partners.
Congratulations to Laura for representing BSIH Lab at this international opportunity to enhance participatory methods and health outcomes in diverse populations.
