Dr. Maria Dimitriadou from the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) had the opportunity to participate in the 6th Commonwealth Nurses and Midwives Conference, Health for All: Nurses and Midwives, Meeting the Challenges—Showing the Way. The conference took place on 27-28 September 2024 at the InterContinental Hotel, St. George’s Bay, St. Julian’s in Malta. This multidisciplinary event provided an international forum for nurses, midwives, as well as nursing and midwifery associations, and institutions to ‘show the way’ in addressing challenges such as improving health outcomes, achieving universal health coverage, and contributing to global health and well-being for individuals and communities across the lifespan in all settings.
Dr. Dimitriadou presented a poster titled, “Developing a Country-Observatory for Sharing Best Practices for Vaccination Promotion (co-OPERATOR)”. Emphasis was placed on the co-OPERATOR’s aim to address the challenge of developing an innovative and citizen-centered digital solution with an evidence-based virtual observatory to increase vaccine uptake and vaccine literacy among citizens and health professionals. The project seeks to empower informed decisions and to understand the determinants of vaccine uptake, as well as the barriers and facilitators that healthcare professionals face in promoting vaccine information. The web link and Facebook page of the co-OPERATOR project were disseminated to interested participants.
