Maria Stavrinaki

Maria Stavrinaki is a licensed Clinical Psychologist specialising in health-related behaviour change and addictions. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cyprus, a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy: CBT; from the University of Roehampton, an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Surrey and a bachelor’s degree from University College London. 

She has 15 years of paid research, clinical and teaching experience in psychology. Specifically, she has varied clinical and research experience in implementing individual, family and group therapy (CBT/ACT) as well as in completing structured diagnostic interviews in Cyprus and the United Kingdom. Additionally, she has co-authored several publications in peer reviewed journals and academic books. Furthermore, she volunteer as a scientific reviewer for several addiction related journals. She has also presented and co-authored symposiums and posters in various local and international conferences such as ABCT, ACBS and EHPS. Over the years, Maria has regularly been asked what has drawn her to the field of psychology and have related this back to her love of science, comradeship, and self-exploration. She feels very passionate about her line of work and find great value in updating her practices in accordance with both emerging evidence as well as her personal life experiences. She uses respectful, compassionate, self-empowerment tools based on simple, evidence-based interventions.
