Ruth Plackett
Ruth is a senior research fellow at UCL in the Department of Primary Care and Population Health. She has a background in psychology and completed her PhD in applied health research in 2019 at UCL. Her PhD was a mixed methods evaluation of eCREST, to understand whether eCREST could improve the clinical reasoning skills of medical students and how. She conducted a feasibility randomised controlled trial at three UK medical schools and a qualitative think aloud interview study to explore this. Her current research focuses on social media and young people’s mental health. Ruth is undertaking an NIHR Three Schools’ Mental Health Programme Fellowship at UCL where she is exploring the relationship between social media use and the mental health of young adults and how primary care can better support young people’s mental health.
