Zinonas Antoniou
Dr. Zinonas C. Antoniou (M) is the Co-founder and Deputy Chief Technology Officer at 3AHealth, with over a decade of experience in the development of adaptive, real-time medical video delivery communications on scalable, medical modality, and technology-independent systems. He is recognized for his extensive expertise in eHealth & mHealth systems and services, as evident by his publication record of over 30 peer-reviewed journal, conference, and workshop papers. Dr. Antoniou has taken on leadership roles in numerous national and European research projects related to biomedical science (GRANATUM), and eHealth (eENERCA, FI-STAR, CEF NCPeH, eHealth4Ageing, eHealth4U, EUDCC), showcasing his exceptional research capabilities. Furthermore, he has led critical initiatives and projects, including his current role Project Coordinator of the PRECIOUS – Personalized Medicine via AI-based Precision Tracheostomy project and as the Lead Technical Manager of Electronic Exchange of Social Security Information (EESSI Cy), where he oversees the maintenance and enhancement of crucial IT systems that help social security institutions across the EU exchange information related to different branches (i.e. applicable legislation, sickness, occupational diseases, pensions, etc.) more rapidly and securely, as required by the EU. In addition to his leadership in research and IT management, Dr. Antoniou possesses a wealth of experience in IHE, epSOS, and CDA interoperability standards for cross-border eHealth Information exchange. He has demonstrated his expertise by leading several notable events, such as the IHE Connectathon 2016 and eHDSI 2017-2024 Test sessions for Formal & Upgrade Pre-Production-Testing/Preparatory Pre-Production-Testing. His expertise in these areas has enabled him to make significant contributions to the advancement of eHealth and cross-border interoperability.
