On 28th of May 2026, the BSiH Lab was proud to co-organise and actively participate in the Quality of Life Summit 2026: Shaping the Future of Cancer Research & Policy, held at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus.
Organised in partnership with the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) and held under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Summit brought together policymakers, researchers, healthcare professionals, civil society representatives, and people with lived experience to explore how research, care, and policy can translate into meaningful improvements in quality of life for people affected by cancer.
The BSiH Lab was present throughout the day with a dedicated exhibition booth, where attendees had the opportunity to learn about our work in behavioural science and health psychology, and to connect with members of our team. We also facilitated a panel discussion on research related to psychosocial wellbeing and cancer whilst Dr Maria Loizoupresented the DESIPOC project on psychosocial oncology care provision in Europe.
The Summit addressed key priorities including prevention and early detection, research and innovation in oncology, survivorship and long-term follow-up, equitable access to care, and digital solutions in oncology, all areas closely aligned with the BSiH Lab’s research agenda.
We are grateful to CSI for their outstanding collaboration and to all participants who made the day’s conversations so rich and meaningful. Events like this remind us why the work we do matters and how much further we can go when researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and communities come together.
