The BSiH Lab was prominently present at the 2025 European Health Psychology Society (EHPS) Annual Conference in Groningen, sharing innovative research and strengthening academic connections. The lab presented two highlighted studies on an exploration of smoking behaviors in relation to urban environments in Cyprus, and the development of a cross-national questionnaire assessing healthcare professionals’ readiness to promote vaccination in Europe.
Conference Highlights
Dr Angelos Kassianos presented the study “How smoking behaviours relate to building height, green spaces and sports facilities in Cyprus,” revealing how urban environmental features shape health behaviors in Cypriot adults. The study was part of the Cyprus-Harvard Endowment Program and conducted as part of Benjamin Weitz MPH thesis in collaboration between Harvard University, Cyprus University of Technology and University of Cyprus.
Dr Laura Panagi introduced the “COM-B Readiness to Promote Vaccination Questionnaire” for healthcare professionals, a novel, theory-based tool for measuring and improving vaccination promotion across Europe. The study is part of the EU4Health-funded Co-Operator project.
Looking Ahead: EHPS 2026 Paphos
During the closing ceremony, the BSiH Lab and Cyprus University of Technology officially took over as co-hosts for the 2026 EHPS Annual Conference, set to take place in Paphos. The upcoming event promises to further spotlight health psychology research and strengthen international academic networks. Stay tuned for more information.
