We are excited to share that data collection for the CO-OPERATOR Project has officially begun at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). This marks an important milestone in our mission to understand and strengthen vaccine confidence across Europe.
What makes this phase especially meaningful is the active involvement of CUT nursing students. As part of their Community Nursing and Epidemiology modules, students are being trained as field workers in the project. This hands-on experience allows them to directly engage with research, applying classroom knowledge to real-world public health challenges.
The training and supervision of students are led by Dr. Nicos Middleton and Dr. Elena Roussou, whose expertise ensures that students gain valuable skills in data collection, community engagement, and applied epidemiology. By participating in CO-OPERATOR, students not only contribute to an important European research initiative but also build their own capacity as future health professionals.
This integration of education, research, and practice reflects the values of the CO-OPERAtOR consortium: ensuring that scientific progress is grounded in community needs, while also investing in the next generation of healthcare leaders.
We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses and as students continue to make an impact both locally and across Europe.
