CUT and BSiH Lab researcher awarded at the RIF Research Awards for 2024

With great joy and pride, we announce that at a ceremony organized on March 26th, 2025 at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) and the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), the Postdoctoral Researcher of the Department of Nursing of the Cyprus University of Technology, and BSiH Lab member Dr. Penelope Constantinou, received the Cyprus Research Award – Young Researcher in Social Sciences for 2024.

The Research and Innovation Awards have become a tradition that evaluates and rewards innovation and scientific excellence every year, becoming the reference point for the academic and scientific community of Cyprus. The Research Awards were received by six distinguished researchers from Cyprus, recognizing their contribution and their perspective for the coming years.

As mentioned during the ceremony, Dr. Penelope Constantinou is active in the research field of social sciences, with a specialization in clinical psychology. Dr. Constantinou’s research work focuses on the use of technologies in the better management and treatment of various health problems. Her scientific work reflects her high level of expertise and dedication.

We are very prouyd as a Lab to be able to attract the leading researchers of the country. Dr. Penelope Constantinou works in the Department of Nursing and the Behavioral Science in Health – BSiH research laboratory, in the research project DESIPOC investigating the provision of psychosocial oncology care to people with cancer experience and their caregivers by providing tools for predicting the deterioration of psychosocial indicators during care. The project is funded by European funds and the EU4Health program (Program Code: 101161339).
