Members of the BSiH Lab represent Cyprus at the WHO Evidence into Action Alcohol Project (EVID-ACTION)

19th April 2025

We are very proud to announce that the two representatives of Cyprus to the newly established World Health Organisation (WHO) Evidence into Action Alcohol Project (EVID-ACTION) Youth Network are BSiH Members! To be more specific, two of our current interns (Anna Yayloyan and Antonia Charalambous) were selected to participate in the Youth Network following an invitation by the Network and the National Addictions Authority of Cyprus!

EVID-ACTION is a €10 million project that will work to increase awareness among the public and policy-makers of the links between alcohol consumption and cancer risks. It will support evidence-based alcohol policy measures to reduce these risks, and develop and support the implementation of related training packages for countries.

In December, there was a call for applications to ensure representation across all 30 EVID-ACTION countries and to expand the Network’s ability to shift the narrative on alcohol and help transform evidence into action that favors public health, now bringing together 89 members from across almost all EVID-ACTION countries including Cyprus.

Congratulations to Anna and Antonia! The BSiH Lab is proud that its members are looking into making meaningful changes to our societies and we will be in touch regarding the Network’s work during the following months.
