03 December 2024
On the 25th November 2024, the BSiH Lab actively participated at the Cyprus University of Technology’s Department of Nursing Seminar where academics, researhers and students of the department shared the research they are conducting with the rest of the community.
The Seminar was attended by academics, researchers and students of the Department of Nursing, who presented their latest research activities and innovative practices in the health sector.
Representatives of the Parliamentary Committee on Health, the Ministry of Health, the General Health System (GESY), the Municipality of Limassol and other important health sector stakeholders also attended.
The Seminar focused on four thematic areas:
Health Services: Improving the quality and safety of care provided, digital readiness and health education.
Health Professionals: Developing skills and professional empowerment.
Community: Health promotion and disease prevention actions in the community.
Patients: Supportive care and a person-centered approach.
The BSiH Lab presented two projects: co-OPERATOR and Un-Bias. More specifically, Dr Laura Panagi provided an update on the development of the questionnaires to be used to assess individuals’ readiness to vaccinate based on the 7C Model and health professionals readiness to promote vaccination based on the COM-B Model. Dr Athina Manoli presented part of her METADIDAKTOR programme investigating attentional biases related to illness anxiety using experimental methods.
We are proud being part of this community and looking forward to the next Departmental events that demonstrate the novelty and impact of the research conducted.
