Third Transnational co-Operator Meeting and stakeholder workshop in Pisa (15-17 January 2025)

28th January 2025

As we are getting closer to one of the most significant milestones of the project, which is the middle of the EU4Health-funded co-Operator project, the consortium members met in person for the third project meeting hosted by the University of Pisa.

Professor Caterina Rizzo and the team from the University hosted two days (16th and 17th of January 2025) of intensive and constructive discussions about the project and the challenges expected looking ahead towards the data collection period. In addition, the hosting team organised a stakeholder workshop on the 15th of January entitled ‘Increasing seasonal vaccinne acceptance: an ongoing challenge‘. During the workshop there were important interventions from key presenters providing a holistic approach towards vaccine acceptance:

  • Professor Paolo Bonani from the University of Florence presented the importance of evidence-based guidance and the role of the Adult Immunization Board
  • Professor Fabrizio Bert from the University of Torino presented a large study conducted in Italy on vaccine acceptance
  • Professor Lara Tavoschi from the University of Pisa presented the RiseVAC project and the importance of looking into the vaccine uptake of people in prison.
  • Dr Francesco Paolo Maraglino from the Italian Ministry of Health presented the policymaking perspective of vaccine acceptance
  • The co-Operator PI and BSiH Lab Director Angelos Kassianos from the Cyprus University of Technology presented the individual and contextual determinants of vaccine acceptance and the role of the co-Operator project in informing policymaking.

Sincere thanks to all presenters, the co-Operator consortium members who attended physically or virtually and the University of Pisa team for hosting such a great workshop and project meeting!

Looking forward for the next steps of the project. Next meeting in Palermo hosted by the CESIE on Summer 2025!
