Co-OPERATOR Workshop at the PASYNM National Conference

23rd December 2025

The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) team of the Co-Operator project recently delivered an interactive workshop on healthcare professionals’ readiness to provide information and guidance on vaccination at the Pan-Cyprian Nurses and Midwives Association (PASYNM) National Conference on Friday 12 December 2025. The session formed part of the EU‑funded Co‑OPERATOR project, which aims to develop a country observatory for sharing best practices in vaccination promotion and strengthening the role of frontline professionals in vaccination communication.

The workshop was facilitated by Angelos Kassianos, Nikos Middleton, Ourania Kolokotroni, Elena Rousou, Maria Dimitriadou, Koralia Michail, Christiana Nicolaou and Laura Panagi, and combined brief presentations with experiential activities. After a short introduction to the aims of the day, participants were introduced to Co‑OPERATOR and completed the COM‑B questionnaire to reflect on their own capabilities, opportunities and motivation for discussing vaccines with patients.

Through video analysis, live role‑play demonstrations and small‑group discussions, nurses and midwives explored real‑world communication challenges around vaccination, identified practical strategies for addressing hesitancy, and captured key ideas that were then shared in plenary. The session concluded with an introduction to the AIMS communication framework and a final reflection on how behavioural science and structured tools can support confident, evidence‑based vaccination counselling in everyday clinical practice.
