November was a productive and inspiring month for the Behavioral Science in Health – BSiH Lab, marked by international conference participation, public engagement activities, scientific presentations, and cross-sector collaboration events. Below is a summary of our key activities.
🎙️ 1. Co-operator Podcast Episode on Vaccination, Hesitancy & Immunology
This month, the Co-operator Podcast brought forward a timely discussion on influenza vaccination, decision-making, trust in science, and the psychology of hesitancy.

🌍 2. Participation at the European Public Health Conference 2025 (11–14 November, Helsinki)
A BSiH Lab delegation—including Dr Angelos Kassianos and Dr Maria Kyprianidou participated in the EUPHA European Public Health Conference.

📝 Poster Presentation
Title: The COM-B Readiness to Promote Vaccination Questionnaire for Healthcare Professionals in Europe
Presenter: Maria Kyprianidou
This poster showcased the development, translation, and cultural adaptation of a COM-B–based tool to assess readiness among healthcare professionals to promote vaccination across four European countries.
💡 Pre-Conference Workshop
Our collaborator Prof. Caterina Rizzo presented the co-Operator platform during the pre-conference workshop:
“DIGI – Getting practical with AI in public health: real-world applications, challenges, and ethical considerations.”
🏥 Additional CUT Contributions
Baby Buddy Communicator Project: Presented by Dr. Nicos Middleton, focusing on midwives’ communication skills in Cyprus using the HP-CSS tool.
These activities strengthened the visibility of the BSiH Lab and CUT within the European public health research community.
🧬 3. Invited Presentation at the 2nd Scientific Meeting on Multiple Myeloma (15 November 2025)
Dr. Angelos Kassianos participated as an invited speaker at the Cyprus Myeloma Research Foundation’s Scientific Meeting, which brought together over 70 clinicians and health professionals in Limassol.
Representing the BSiH Lab and the Department of Nursing, Cyprus University of Technology, Dr. Kassianos presented on:

🤝 4. Clinical Scientists Meet Basic Scientists & Innovators Event (21 November 2025)
Lab Director Dr. Angelos Kassianos participated in the event “Clinical scientists meet basic scientists and innovators – a speed-dating event!”, organized by the German Medical Institute under the Agora 3.0 project and supported by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).
The event successfully brought together clinicians, researchers, and innovators from across Cyprus to exchange ideas and build future collaborations.
The evening included:
A rapid networking “speed-dating” session
A relaxed social gathering with wine and cheese
Discussions on bridging real healthcare needs with scientific and innovation expertise
